Frontiers in Management Research
The course aims to give the student understanding about management and organizations in different societal sectors (the industry, the public sector and the civil society), but also about management in different organizational forms (business corporations, public organizations, associations and hybrid organizations).
The course builds on knowledge from earlier courses in organization and management, but in particular has a starting point in the understanding that organizations are likely to have been established for different purposes and that different organizational forms are likely to have different capacities to fulfil different objectives.
A core theme in the course is that organizations do not passively adapt to their environments, they are more likely to actively be engaged in constructing demands directed towards them from their environments, as well as being involved in the development of the society at large.

Course structure
Teaching format
The teaching consists of lectures, seminars and group work, and requires a significant portion of self-study on the part of students.
The language of instruction is English.
The teaching mainly takes place on campus.
For more detailed course information, see the study guide, published on the learning platform no later than one month before the course commences.
Assessment
Assessment for the course will be continuous and is carried throughout the different course activities. Each assessment task is weighted in relation to its importance in the overall assessment of the course. The student’s results from the different assessment tasks are added up to a total course score that will then translate into the final grade for the course.
