Magnetic Resonance Imaging
This course covers the fundamental NMR physics, MR-safety and introduces basic- and advanced MRI applications. The course has many teachers who all lecture within their own areas of expertise. The aim of the course is to prepare the student for work as an MR-physicist or to work with MR-physics.
This course is divided into two different parts. In the first part, “The basics of MRI”, the fundamentals of NMR physics are taught along with lectures describing how an MR image is acquired and reconstructed. This part also includes a theoretical and practical introduction to MR-safety. Part 1 ends with a bonus exam to prepare all participants for part two; “MRI applications and more”. The second part of the course contains a mixture of theoretical lectures, exercises, laboratory exercises, auscultation at an MRI clinic and an assignment to be presented to the class. Written laboratory reports and all practical parts of the course are obligatory.
