Project Course in AI and Language

The project course in AI and language gives you the opportunity to conduct an independent research project in language technology with a focus on text or speech data. The course offers a chance to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, within academia, organizations, or the industry.

During the course you will undertake a research project within the subject area. This project gives you the opportunity to:

  • Explore Theoretical Foundations - Dive deep into the theoretical framework and understand the fundamental principles and theories underlying your project.
  • Formulate Research Questions - Identify and define key research questions that guide your project.
  • Analyze Previous Research - Conduct a comprehensive literature review to map out previous work and state-of-the-art within your chosen area.
  • Apply Methods - Learn to select and apply appropriate research methods to effectively address your research questions.
  • Evaluate and Compare - Critically evaluate your research findings in relation to existing studies and theories.
  • Present Your Work - Develop skills in communicating your results, both in writing and orally, in a professional and convincing manner.

The project can be carried out either within an academic environment at the university or in a more applied context at companies, government agencies, or organizations. This provides you with a unique opportunity to establish valuable contacts and gain insight into how AI and language technology are used in real life.

Project Course in AI and Language is part of our Master's Programme in AI and Language.

  • Course structure

    Teaching format

    Instruction is given in the form of lectures, seminars and laboratory sessions.

    Assessment

    This course is examined on the basis of written assignments and oral presentations.

  • Schedule

    The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.
