Degree certificate
The degrees are awarded by Stockholm University according to the Swedish Higher Education Authority Degree Ordinance.
The Degree Certificate includes the title of qualification, the main field of study, and the names of approved passed courses and for each course the number of higher education credits, the grade and the date for the grade. The certificate does not state the name of the programme. The document is issued in Swedish and English.
Together with the certificate the student will receive a Diploma Supplement in English. The purpose of the supplement is to provide sufficient independent data to improve international transparency and fair academic and professional recognition of qualifications (degrees etc.). It is designed to provide a description of the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies that were pursued and successfully completed. The Diploma Supplement follows a model regulated by the Swedish Higher Education Authority and developed by the European Commission, the Council of Europe and the UNESCO-CEPES.
Degree certificates are not issued automatically, but at the request of the individual graduate concerned. Once the student completes the studies the degree certificate order form (along with the necessary attachments) can be submitted online at “Mina studier” to the Academic Records Unit at Student Services, Stockholm University. The certificate is free of charge.
