The Stockholm University Department of Human Geography participates in the European Union Erasmus+ programme. Within this programme the Department have student exchange, and in some cases also teacher exchange, with departments at 27 universities. In addition to these, there are university-wide Erasmus+ agreements with eight other universities (the CIVIS alliance of nine European universities), the Nordplus Nordlys network including 27 universities in the other Nordic countries and contracts with a number of non-European universities; all managed by Stockholm University International Office.
Stockholm University Minor Field Studies (MFS) scholarships from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency are available for students who would like to gather material for their degree thesis or project in a developing country.
