Om mig
I am a Doctor in the History of Religions. I defended my dissertation in October 2024 at Stockholm University. My dissertation, "Rituals of Perceptual Presence," has received three prizes: the Stockholm University Association Prize in the Humanities 2024, the European Society for the Study of Western Esotericism Thesis Prize 2025, and the Donner Institute Research Prize 2025.
At the theoretical level, my work focuses on understanding the dynamics of spatial designs and the experience of presence in religious and ritual contexts. At the historical level, I have analyzed medieval magical handbooks that taught monks and clerics in the late Middle Ages how to summon spiritual beings.
Currently, I am exploring the reception history of these textual traditions and ritual techniques in the modern and contemporary contexts.
I have held the distance-based course "Magic in the European History of Religions: Text and Traditions" (7.5 ECTS) for seven semesters at Stockholm University. I supervise BA and MA theses.
