Andreas Silva Doktorand

Doktorand på sektionen för Management, Organisation och Samhälle, Företagsekonomiska institutionen. Påbörjade min tjänst hösten 2023 och planerar att disputera våren 2028.

Född ´76. Frilansat som grafisk formgivare av böcker och gått olika skolor för kreativt skrivande. Gick psykologprogrammet 2003-2008 och har jobbat med ledar- och organisationsutveckling sedan dess, både som anställd och fristående konsult. 2019 tog jag en master i socialantropologi. Min ledstjärna har alltid varit en nyfikenhet på upplevelsen av att vara människa, i all sin komplexitet.

Jag brukar beskriva mig som halvsvensk, halvcolombian, delvis uppvuxen på Kap Verde-öarna. Inte för att nationaliteter spelar roll. Kanske mer för att säga, "hallå, alla innehåller mångfalder, låt oss utforska dem!" Min bakgrund har nog påverkat mitt intresse för relationen globala nord/syd, kolonialism, feminism och temporal etik. Utsatthet och makt i största allmänhet. Och frågor om vem som har tillgång till att göra framtider.

Re-turning Human

On journeying home and failing gracefully

My research can be seen as an affirmative engagement with postcolonial becomings in a world of climate change, where re-turning (Barad) the very notion of Human seems key to survival. Taking colonialism as the foundation of the extractivist and segregational world-making that fuels climate change, I set out to explore journeyings towards other homes, beyond the Eurocentric becoming of the Human.

I move and think-with Cabo Verde, an island nation in the "Global South" and part of the cradle of colonialism. My inquiry tries to befriend and journey with such notions as creolization (Glissant, Sousa) and the black Atlantic (Gilroy), as well as with posthumanist, feminist, and postqualitative approaches (e.g. Braidotti, Iman Jackson, Barad, St. Pierre).

I’m curious about organisational becomings as a process of bodies in motion and in care. In a postqualitative vein, I engage in diffractive correspondence with three entanglements: the artistic process of a dancer and choreographer, the social and political processes of an alternative space for art and activism, and the ocean as matter, relation, and imaginary. My aim is not to describe a certain practice, or representationally convey a culture or an organisational form. Instead, guided by the notions of re-turning Human, journeying home, and failing gracefully, my invitation is to a joint meditation on ways of organisationally becoming otherwise with the world.
