I am interested in utilizing experimental evolution to produce quantitative, emperical tests of fundamental evolutionary theories. My current research focuses on testing the origin, dynamics, and outcomes of adaptation to novel environments with yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisae)– a highly amenable system for studying evolution in real time. Not only do I aim to validate and strengthen our understanding of evolutionary dynamics, but also to play a role in informing conservation practices as organisms and populations face ever-changing environments.
