Monjur MourshedPostdoktor

Om mig

Dr Monjur Mourshed received his Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master of Science (MSc) degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET), Bangladesh, and earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from RMIT University, Australia. His doctoral research, supervised by Professor Bahman Shabani, RMIT University, Australia and funded by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), focused on developing a proton flow reactor system for producing hydrogenated carbon-based powders for large-scale hydrogen applications.

Following his PhD, Dr Mourshed worked as a postdoctoral research assistant in the Sustainable Hydrogen Energy Laboratory (SHEL) at RMIT University under the supervision of Professor John Andrews, contributing to hydrogen fuel cell and electrolyzer projects supported by the Australian Defence Innovation Hub.

At Stockholm University’s Arrhenius Laboratory, Dr Mourshed conducts postdoctoral research under the supervision of Professor Mats Johnsson. His work focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and electrochemical evaluation of advanced electrocatalysts for saltwater splitting, a sustainable route for hydrogen production. His research particularly addresses the challenges posed by chloride ions and the development of stable, selective electrocatalysts to suppress chlorine evolution. His broader interests include electrocatalysis, hydrogen energy systems, electrochemical flow batteries, renewable energy storage, and waste-to-energy conversion.
