Om mig
Jag är professor i internationella relationer och prefekt för Institutionen för ekonomisk historia och internationella relationer vid Stockholms universitet. Innan dess arbetade jag på Totalförsvarets forskningsinstitut (FOI) 2020-2021 som analytiker, professor vid Institutt for forsvarsstudier i Oslo (2008-2020), som doktorand, lärare, forskare, och så småningom studierektor och utvecklings- och forskningschef (1998-2008) vid Försvarshögskolan i Stockholm. Jag försvarade min doktorsavhandling om svensk-norska säkerhetsrelationer 1949-1969 vid Stockholms universitet, Historiska institutionen, år 2003, och är sedan 2011 docent i historia vid SU. Mina forskningsintressen är svensk, nordisk, europeisk och transatlantisk säkerhets- och försvarspolitik.
Undervisning
Jag har omfattande undervisningserfarenhet - mer än 10 000 klocktimmar - på alla nivåer från universitet och högskolor i Norden, Europa och USA. Förutom enstaka gästföreläsningar har jag framför allt undervisat om säkerhets- och försvarspolitik på Försvarshögskolan i Stockholm, Stockholms universitet, Forsvarets Høgskole och Universitetet i Oslo, samt George Washington University i Washington DC.
Forskning
Min forskning är inriktad på internationella relationer, särskilt nordisk, europeisk och transatlantisk säkerhet och försvar. Några av mina senaste publikationer är:
