Om mig
I am a microbial ecologist interested in integrating -omic technologies with stable isotope probing and microscopy to investigate the microbial ecophysiology and biogeochemical cycles in different ecosystems.
I currently work between the Baltic Sea Centre at Stockholm University and Scilifelab. My thesis focused on the ecology of ammonia-oxidizing archaea under oxygen depletion conditions.
Bachelor thesis co-supervision “Nitrogen cycling in marine sediments” (2023) at Southern Denmark University.
Teaching assistant in Microbiology and Experimental methods at Southern Denmark University (2021-2022).
My research focuses on the production and consumption of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by phytoplankton and marine microorganisms in marine coastal areas. Which microorganisms have the genetic potential to produce or consume VOCs? Which genes are active and involved in these processes? To answer these questions, I use metagenomics and metatranscriptomics combined with VOCs measurements.
