Om mig

Peter is a researcher in curriculum studies with a focus on social studies. He has taught social studies, law and singing courses in pedagogical content knowledge (ämnesdidaktik) to pre- and inservice elementary school teachers.

He presently teaches social studies and singing at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences Education at the University of Stockholm.

In his research and teaching he draws from a varied background as lawyer, linguist and musician. He is a qualified middle- and high school teacher in several fields and in three different jurisdictions, including Sweden.

Peter has been a full course lecturer of comparative law, environmental law, and singing at Waseda University, Yokohama National University and Tokyo University of Science. He has also taught English and French in a Swedish middle school and presently teaches social studies curriculum studies and singing in the teacher education program at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences Education.

The focus of Peter's research is the K-9 compulsory school social studies curriculum. He is presently researching the varying extent to which subject content in school textbooks enables the teaching and learning of relationships of commitment. He relies heavily on activity theory, critical discourse theory and linguistic methods in his research.
