Tanushree Rao Doktorand

I am a PhD Candidate at Stockholm University's Department of Economic History and International Relations. My research considers how inequality manifests in international aid patterns, particularly in the context of complex and climate-related humanitarian emergencies. I am also interested in plural epistemologies and employ critical quantitative and spatial methods in my work, including feminist and decolonial approaches to statistics.

I am affiliated with the Stockholm Centre for Global Governance (SCGG) and previously the MISTRA Geopolitics program. Prior to academia, I worked as a communication specialist and program advisor in Australia and Timor-Leste in the fields of international development, gender, technology, peacebuilding, and environmental management. I hold an MSSc in Peace and Conflict Studies from Uppsala University (2021) via the Rotary Peace Fellowship program, and dual bachelor's degrees (2012) with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Peace and Conflict Studies, a Bachelor of Journalism, and an Honours degree in International Relations (2013) from the University of Queensland.
