The introduction should include the information in the Chemical Management Procedures. Furthermore, it should cover waste management, risk assessment, general rules for safe laboratory work from both a health and an environmental perspective, as well as knowledge of potential risks and emergency preparedness. Completion of the introduction should be documented and signed by the participants.

In addition to the general chemical management procedures, departments with laboratory activities should develop their own, more detailed, instructions adapted to the type of activities that are carried out in those departments.

The Technical Support Office provides courses in laboratory safety, KLARA, and working with environmentally safe laboratories.
