Welcome to a workshop on teaching and learning with Centre for the Advancement of University Teaching (CeUL).

Who is the workshop for?

Teachers at Stockholm University with a keen interest in learning how to get students actively involved in the classroom.

About the workshop

At SU we have access to a number of Active Learning Classrooms (ALCs), teaching and learning spaces which make it easy to activate, challenge and motivate your students. The ALC is an educational concept that utilizes physical spaces such as group tables, whiteboards and technologies such as interactive screens with software to allow the teacher and students to control what is shown on each screen to promote collaborative learning. Universities all around the world are building these dedicated active learning classrooms to boost student learning. Now you can learn how to use the ALC teaching spaces to encourage students to engage with each other and the materials you have prepared for them.

In this workshop you will experience activities in an ALC room and we will use this teaching technique to learn about and discuss the thinking and research behind active learning. You will have an opportunity to consider how this way of teaching could improve your own courses.
