Green Infrastructure in Forestry and Agriculture
Green infrastructure is a network of natural and semi-natural areas, both on land and in water, that can improve environmental conditions and therefore peoples' health and quality of life.
Degradation of ecosystems, through for example intensified agriculture, forestry and fisheries is one of the most critical causes of habitat loss and decline of biodiversity and associated ecosystem services, on which humans depends. It is therefore crucial to understand how green infrastructures can be protected and used sustainable to enhance peoples' livelihoods and wellbeing. The course provides examples of green infrastructures in different environments and how ecosystems and their associated services can be an integrated component in physical planning and natural resource management.
The course gives you basic knowledge about the requirements of, and conflict potential between different types of land-use and the on-going debate about these matters.

Instruction consists of lectures, seminars, exercises, field trips and project works.
