Higher seminar: "The Rise of the South Korean Defense Industry and Arms Exports"

Speaker: Gabriel Jonsson, Associate professor, Docent in Korean Studies at Stockholm University.

South Korea has in recent years become a leading arms exporter. What are the explanations of the rise of exports? To give a comprehensive answer to the question, measures undertaken to promote the defense industry and arms exports and the industrial and technological basis to develop the defense industry have to be analyzed as well as specific reasons behind the rise of exports.

Gabriel Jonsson is Associate professor at Stockholm University.
