In his lecture, Alexis von Sydow will talk about current issues concerning China's relationship with Taiwan. What characterises the relationship between China and Taiwan today? What influence does China exert on Taiwan? What developments have taken place since the presidential election on Taiwan earlier this year? And how high is the risk of war?

Alexis will also describe his role as an analyst at the NKK and career paths for a political science specialisation in China studies.

Alexis von Sydow is an analyst at the National Knowledge Centre on China where he works on issues related to China's foreign policy, security and influence. He has previously worked as a translator from Chinese and is an alumnus of the Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at Stockholm University.
