Become a researcher

The doctoral program in criminology aims to provide the student with in-depth knowledge of the subject's theory, method, current research in the field and other skills that are necessary to make the student a critical and independent researcher with the ability to perform scientific work.

The doctoral program includes four years of full-time studies, 240 higher education credits, of which 75 higher education credits consist of courses and 165 higher education credits consist of an independent scientific work / dissertation.

Opportunity to apply for education at the doctoral level in criminology takes place by calling once a year. Places are added to the extent available resources allow.

Vacant doctoral positions are announced / announced three weeks before the last application date on the university's website.

Visiting Researcher

The Department of Criminology invites applications from academics, including professors, postdocs, and PhD students, who wish to spend 1-6 months participating in the academic life at the department. Over the years we have had many guest researchers who have come to our department.
