Organisation
The Department has around forty employees. It is led by the Head of Department, supported by the Deputy Head of Department and the Head of Administration.
Department Board
The Department Board is the Department’s highest decision-making body. It is chaired by the Head of Department and includes the Deputy Head of Department, as well as representatives from the academic and administrative staff, doctoral students, and students through the Criminology Student Council.
Management
The Department’s Management Team consists of the Head of Department, the Deputy Head of Department, and the Head of Administration. Together, they lead the Department’s operations and strategic development.
The Head of Administration is responsible for planning and coordinating administrative routines, financial management, budgeting and reporting, project accounting, and managing the administrative and technical staff.
The administrative and technical team’s responsibilities include human resources, procurement, legal matters, communications, IT and web management, facilities, course administration, and coordination of the Stockholm Prize in Criminology.
Work Environment and Equal Opportunities
The Head of Department has overall responsibility for the work environment. The Deputy Head of Department coordinates ongoing efforts related to health and safety, gender equality, and equal opportunities, in close collaboration with the Head of Administration, safety representatives, and the local work environment group.
The Local Committee for Work Environment and Equal Opportunities monitors and develops these areas and meets several times each semester. The Department also has Health and Safety Representatives who work to promote a safe and inclusive workplace.

Environmental Work
The Head of Administration also serves as the Department’s Environmental Representative, responsible for coordinating environmental efforts and ensuring compliance with the University’s environmental policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
