The council’s task is to strengthen the agency’s work with evidence-based practice and proven experience.
”I hope to contribute to their quantitative analyses and share ideas on the agency’s data collection,” Jonas Vlachos says about his new role.
The council will play a key role in providing advice and guidance to the agency on issues concerning the scientific foundations of education. This may include anything from government assignments and working methods to the design of new projects in the school system.
The work begins with an information meeting on the council’s role, followed by a retreat with more in-depth discussions.
”We don’t yet know exactly what will be on the agenda,” Vlachos explains.
The Scientific Council will meet around four times a year and serve as a resource in the agency’s development work.
