"Meaning of forests and forestry in Swedish and Finnish school textbooks 1970–2020s". Otso Kortekangas (Åbo Akademi University), and Christoffer Åhlman (Örebro University), presents at the Climate and Environmental Seminar.
Otso Kortekangas and Christoffer Åhlman present their project about different meanings (e.g., economic, ecological, cultural, recreational) that school textbooks have presented about forests in Sweden and Finland (from 1972 to today). The project builds on a sample of books in biology, geography, social studies, and history.
Otso Kortekangas, PhD, is Docent in Nordic Studies at the University of Helsinki and Researcher in History at Åbo Akademi University, Finland.
Christoffer Åhlman, PhD, is Researcher in Educational History at Örebro University, Sweden.
