Historical research at Stockholm University enjoys a strong position nationally as well as internationally. The department, which welcomes over 150 new students each semester, provides the largest bachelor level education of history in the country. The department organizes the Doctoral School for PhD Students of History in collaboration with Uppsala University.

In the beginning of October, representatives of the Centre for Medieval Studies visited Madrid for a conference on crusading history. Professor Kurt Villads Jensen has shared a report on an inspiring conference.
Between the 9 oktober to 11 oktober a variety of researchers and Ph.D. students from Centre for Medieval Studies participated in the Medieval Museum Symposium, which was held at the City Museum in Stockholm. A remarkable total of 26 papers were presented, encompassing a comprehensive range of topics related to medieval Stockholm.
