What does this mean to you?
"I'm not sure yet. I guess it means I’m getting older and, hopefully, a bit wiser", he told the Department of Political Science website.
What research and/or projects are you currently involved in?
"I'm currently involved in several interesting projects with colleagues. In the Demcoop project, we are focusing on how autocratization affects international cooperation. In the Transform2030 project, the focus is on the effectiveness of global public-private partnerships. In the GECCO project, we are trying to understand the sources and consequences of environmental protests around the world", he said.
What will you do next (upcoming projects, books etc)?
"In the coming years, I will be working on my book about on-site human rights monitoring missions in authoritarian countries. The book is part of the IMMP project and is financed by the Swedish Research Council", Faradj Koliev said.
Democracy, Autocracy, and International Cooperation is a research project exploring why, how, and under what conditions countries’ political regimes affect how they behave in international cooperation. The project is funded by the European Research Council, the Swedish Research Council and Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.
A key feature of global governance is the possibility to monitor governments alleged of noncompliance with international treaties. Intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) routinely conduct onthe-spot monitoring missions to assess if governments are violating international conventions.
