Housing application – tuition fee-paying students

As an international student at Stockholm University, paying tuition fees, you are eligible for accommodation from Housing Office. Master students receiving a scholarship from Stockholm University Scholarship Scheme or from the Swedish Institute are also prioritized.

Accommodation offers

Those who are eligible and who apply within the deadline will be informed via email by the Housing Office on whether they have received an accommodation offer. Please be aware that due to the numerous steps in the booking process and due to possible last-minute cancellations, it can take up to two-three months or more before all students can be informed about the status of their application.

When applying for housing every applicant can choose their preferred areas. However, it is not possible to choose a specific room and there is no guarantee that a possible housing offer will match the preferred area. Some other preferences may be expressed under "additional information" in the application form, as for example a room on the ground floor or not located on the ground floor.

The accommodation offer is received via email and includes the housing contract with all the necessary information about accommodation and rent payments. Read the housing contract carefully before accepting the accommodation offer. Please keep in mind that you have a limited time to accept your offer. Check your emails frequently! You will not receive a second offer!

 

Rental period and cost

Student accommodations are rented on a semester basis and charged accordingly. The housing contract dates (arrival and departure dates) are set dates which cannot be changed.

The application period for the autumn semester 2025

  • opens 15 May at 12:00 noon (Central European Time)
  • closes 29 May at 12:00 noon (Central European Time).

Note: Applications submitted after the application period will not be given priority.

 

Application period – spring semester 2026

The application period will be presented later on.
