About me

I'm a PhD student in the Level-of-Living (LNU) unit at the Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI). My main research interests are educational stratification, integration and early labour market outcomes. I also have an interest in quantitative methods and causal analysis using observational data.

My supervisors are Carina Mood and Adam Altmejd.

Research

In my thesis project I use Amartya Sen's and Martha Nussbaum's capability theory as a starting point for investigating integration in education and the transition from education to work. The broad questions that I aim to address are: To what extent does the educational system in Sweden provide equal opportunities for all to convert means into capabilities? How do institutional factors constrain or enable the educational choices of immigrants and their descendants? And do potential differences persist across multiple generations?

In this research I work with Swedish register data and a broad set of quantitative methods.
