About me
Jessica Samsioe is a PhD student in Preschool didactics at the department of Child and Youth Studies since the fall of 2021. Jessica is a licensed preschool teacher with a master's degree in preschool didactics.
About my research
In my PhD project I investigate dressing practices of children's outerwear in larger preschool cloakrooms. I have interviewed preschool staff, caregivers and done walking tours with the children, where they got to show me what they do when they are in the cloakroom.

Research
This thesis aims to investigate and produce knowledge about the time-spatial organization of large preschool units in relation to undressing and dressing practices in the preschool hall. In this thesis, the large preschool and its changed spatiality, organization and everyday practices are studied in particular, by studying two larger preschools where all or most of the children use one hall. The purpose of the thesis is to contribute with empirical knowledge about the time-spatial organization of large preschools and how undressing and dressing practices in large preschool halls are organized, as well as which didactic practices are constructed in interaction between the environment, children and adults. Methodologically, constructivistic grounded theory (Charmaz, 2014) is applied with ethnographic methods (Hammersley & Atkin-son, 2007).
