About me

1. About me

PhD from the Royal Institute of Technology in Physical Chemistry with István Furó, Stockholm, Sweden. Postdoctoral research with Bradley Chmelka in University of California at Santa Barbara, and with Sebastian Reyes at ExxonMobil Corporate Research Laboratory, Annandale, US. Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and now Professor of Materials Chemistry at Stockholm University.

2. Research

The main focus is currently on adsorbents for separation or reduction of carbon dioxide, and on carbon materials derived by hydrothermal carbonization. A multipronged approach is applied that includes among other tools molecular spectroscopy.

3. On-going projects

Swedish Reserch Council: ”Microporous polymers for the upgrading of biogas and the catalytic transformation of carbon dioxide to methanol”, 2017-2020.

Mistra: The MistraTerraClean program, https://mistraterraclean.com/.

EU: GreenCarbonITN under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 721991 http://greencarbon-etn.eu/.

Stiftelsen Olle Engkvist Byggmästare: ”Catalytic transformation of carbon dioxide to methanol”, 2018-2020

Research Group members

Current members:

Vahid Saadattalab, PhD student (MSc), MistraTerraClean (mistraterraclean.com). He simply enjoys playing innebandy, travelling the world, connecting the dots and get impressed by becoming the dots”.

Anthony Szego Nagle, PhD student (MSc), GreenCarbon ETN (greencarbon-etn.eu).

Xia Wang, PhD student (MSc), GreenCarbon ETN (greencarbon-etn.eu). She likes writing.

Jinqin Yang, postdoc (PhD), “DFT simulations on the hydrogenation of CO2 in Ru-based catalytic systems”, https://www.su.se/english/profiles/jiya0121-1.408009. Her interests include indoor cycling, Zumba and hiking.
