About me
Svante Schriber is Professor of Business administration (tenured) at the section for Management and Organization. He earned his PhD at the Stockholm School of Economics and continued doing research there until 2014, when he was offered a position at the SBS. Before starting his PhD he worked in Germany as a management consultant focusing on the development of internationalizing strategies.
His research on Strategy illuminates why some firms are more competitive than others. A substantial part of his research deals with mergers and acquisitions (M&A), e.g. target selection, integration and synergy realization, how firms compete in dynamic markets (Dynamic Dapabilities and Competitive Dynamics), and on Corporate Strategy.
His research appears in leading international academic journals. He is the author and co-author of several books on M&A, strategy and management. He also directs his research results to managers and practitioners in practitioner journals. He has been granted research funding from Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, Handelsbankens stiftelser, and VINNOVA.
Svante is Research Fellow at Management Center Innsbruck (MCI), Austria. He has been visiting researcher at St. Gallen University, Switzerland, an regularly teaches at other universities. His teaching has repeatedly been acknowledged for its quality, and he has been nominated for Best Teacher awards several times. He has a long experience of teaching M&A, strategy and management to experienced managers, both in the context of executive education and tailored education programs in a wide range of industries. He has a long experience of practical strategy work.
