About me

I am Senior Lecturer in Arabic at the Department of Asian, Middle Eastern and Turkish Studies since 2007. I accomplished my university studies in France and obtainted my PhD degree in Arabic in 2008 from the university of Sorbonne-Nouvelle (Paris III).

I teach Modern Arabic Literature and Arabic language for the graduate and undergraduate levels.

My field of research is related to the literary analysis of Modern Arabic Fiction. In my main study, I have been working on the techniques of beginning and their evolution in the Arabic novels of the 20th century. I have also conducted research on the representation of despotic characters in a selection of novels and on the literature of exile. In my current project, I am studying the function and the representation of the spaces dedicated to death in various contexts in Modern Arabic fiction.
