Research group Golkar's Research Lab

Golkar’s research lab investigates various aspects of emotion regulation and learning with a specific focus on how we learn and remember from aversive experiences.

Within this line of research, we study how our ability to learn by observing the behaviors of other individuals – through so called social learning –can help us better understand how we develop fears and how social learning strategies can be used to prevent and extinguish previously learned fears. Our research departs from well established associative learning models and combines behavioral, psychophysiological and brain imaging methods.
