Research group The Heritage Seminar at Stockholm University

The Heritage Seminar at Stockholm University gathers around a shared interest in heritage and museums. From various academic disciplines, we explore how memories, objects, and events are preserved, as well as how different actors select, interpret, and communicate different forms of heritage.

The Heritage Seminar is an interdisciplinary forum where researchers interested in heritage and museum issues can meet. The seminar enables cross-disciplinary dialogues, research initiatives, and collaborations, as well as the exchange of experiences in teaching within the heritage field. Twice per semester, seminars are held at the art gallery Accelerator, followed by a post-seminar with refreshments and snacks. The seminar is organized by a steering group consisting of researchers from diverse academic disciplines at Stockholm University, including both the humanities and social sciences.

The Heritage Seminar is a continuation and development of the Critical Heritage Studies Network at Stockholm University.
