Research project Assistive technology for students with severe writing difficulties
The project focuses on writing strategies and assistive technology. The participants are students with severe writing difficulties. They are aged 10-12 years. All students have received special educational support but continue to have challenges with writing.

Research on assistive technology is shown to support students with reading and writing difficulties. Their participation and opportunities to complete school work increase when they listen to text instead of reading. However, research on assistive technology in text production is limited. Therefore, the purpose is to investigate whether assistive technology efficiently supports students with severe writing difficulties. The project has a single-subject design, and the students participate in an intervention with writing strategies and assistive technology. Each student's development and skills in producing text are studied.
