Research project CIVung - Behavioral and neural correlates of pragmatic development during adolescence
Pragmatics, a higher level of language ability, is essential for understanding and interpreting meaning and intention in communication with others.

Pragmatic developmental problems are prevalent, e.g in ASD and ADHD-individuals. In behavioral and neurally based studies, we characterize pragmatic development with a focus on healthy adolescents, but potentially also ADHD.
We will study variance related to gender in pragmatic ability, potentially also in young adulthood. We also aim to develop new behavioral tests for assessing the prosodic and emotional component of pragmatics.
