Research project Research School of Islamology

The research school in Islamology is a collaboration between seven universities. Depending on the university, students are admitted to the research topic of religious studies, religious history, subject didactics and systematic theology. The purpose of the research school is to ensure that expertise in Islamology is kept alive.

Linnaeus University is coordinated for the research school in Islamology, where also Lund University, Stockholm University, Gothenburg University, Södertörn University, Uppsala University and Umeå University are included as equal partners. The research students have been accepted at one of these universities.

For Stockholm University, the research school started in September 2023, and the Department of Teaching and Learning and the Department of Ethnology, History of Religions and Gender Studies are responsible.
