Research project Violence, masculinity and prevention in preschool and school-age educare

This doctoral thesis project by Anders Jacobson focuses on violence prevention as a practice that intertwines teaching, values policy, methods, organization and approaches with focus on Preschool Class and School-Age Educare.

The doctoral thesis project focuses on violence prevention as a practice that intertwines teaching, values and policy, methods, organization and approaches. Violence prevention processes and care practices are put in relation to understandings of masculinity and "race", as well as to staffing, organizational and spatial resources. The focus is on preschool class and its school-age educare. From feminist and intersectional perspectives, understandings of violence prevention and related risks for “suspecting” children are analyzed in a time when repressive measures dominate the social and political debate.
