Research subject Italian Literature
The research area Italian literature is a very broad field that examines literary texts in different genres, from different epochs and from a variety of theoretical perspectives.
Our research examines pre-modern, modern and contemporary literature from the following perspectives: translation, reception, mediation, transnationality, world literature, sociology of literature, genre studies, postcolonialism, posthumanism, animal studies and neo-formalism. The researchers at our department are also interested in different fields of Italian literature: children’s literature, modernism, migrant literature, women’s writing, visionary poetry and epic. An important area of study regards the interconnections between Italian and Swedish literature and highlights how these literatures interact with each other on different levels.
