Research subject Historiography
Historiography can mean "writing history" or "writing history about historiography". Most often, historiography involves meta-historical studies of other, past or contemporary, historical studies.
The historiographical research within Art history at Stockholm University has many different applications, from intellectual biographies and mapping of previous school formations to critical analysis of narrative structures and theoretical approaches. The aim may be to generate increased knowledge about a certain area or to point out shortcomings and blind spots in previous research, in order to develop new perspectives and applications.
