This course is a direct continuation of the course Lithuanian 1.
The aim of the course is for you to gain knowledge in the structure of the Lithuanian language, expand your ability to express yourself orally and in writing in standard Lithuanian, and well as to gain basic knowledge in Lithuanian and Latvian contemporary literature and culture.

Modules
The course consists of the following subcourses:
- Language knowledge and language proficiency C
- Language knowledge and language proficiency D
- Fiction and non-fiction
- Baltic Literature and Cultural History - Lithuania
Teaching format
Instruction is in the form of lectures and seminars.
Course requirements: deadlines for submission of written submissions are mandatory elements of the course. Attendance is mandatory at the sub-courses Language knowledge and language proficiency C and Language knowledge and language proficiency D.
A maximum of two seminar sessions can be compensated. Teaching takes place in English and Lithuanian.
Teaching takes place remotely or on campus as specified for the respective occasion for the course. For more detailed information, refer to the course description.
Assessment
Forms of Assessment:
- The sub-course Language knowledge and language proficiency C, 7.5 credits, is examined through an oral presentation and a written assignment in connection with each seminar occasion.
- The sub-course Language knowledge and language proficiency D, 7.5 credits, is examined through an oral presentation and a written assignment in connection with each seminar occasion.
- The sub-course Fiction and non-fiction, 7.5 credits, is examined through an oral presentation and a written assignment in connection with the respective seminar occasion.
- The sub-course Baltic Literature and Cultural History - Lithuania, 7.5 credits, is examined through a written assignment in connection with the respective seminar occasion.
The principles for weighting the individual examination tasks appear in the grading criteria. The examination takes place in English and Lithuanian.
For more detailed information, refer to the course description. The course description is available no later than one month before the start of the course.
If the student has a certificate with a recommendation for special educational support due to a disability, the examiner has the right to give an adapted test or have the student complete the test in an alternative way.
