Open quantum systems
Open quantum systems are quantum systems that interact with their surrounding environment, which often leads to a loss of coherence and degradation of quantum entanglement.
This course provides an introduction to open quantum systems as well as the formalisms and methods used to model them. It covers density matrices, quantum measurements, and quantum operations for quantum systems interacting with a surrounding environment. It also covers the main equations used to model the non-unitary dynamics of open quantum systems. In addition, experiments with different noise environments and the best way to model these are discussed
