Geomicrobiology and minerals
The course deals with the microbially-mediated carbon cycle, with special focus on microbe-mineral interaction.

It looks at the impact of microorganisms on the aquatic and terrestrial geochemistry. It covers basics in microbiology and microbial metabolisms, lithosphere and hydrosphere as microbial habitat, microbial biomineralization and weathering, industrial and environmental application of geomicrobiology (e.g., biomining, bioremediation, water treatment), origin of life.
