Journalism- Master’s (120 credits) course
Degree project of 30 credits in a journalistic work of a theoretical and empirical nature.
The degree project comprises 30 credits, and must be a journalistic work of a theoretical and empirical nature that prepares for postgraduate training. The thesis is a scientific investigation of a problem that is relevant to the research field of journalism. The student presents an independent research project carried out under supervision. The work with the degree project provides journalistic research competence and insights into problem formulations and working methods relevant to the field. The degree project provides experience in preparing a research project from original idea to finished research report in essay form.
For a passing result on the course, the student must be able to: - critically and systematically integrate knowledge and analyse, assess and manage complex phenomena, issues and situations within the research field of journalism science and show substantially in-depth knowledge within certain parts of the field, - based on in-depth methodological knowledge and in-depth insight into current research and development work, critically, independently and creatively identify and formulate issues, and plan and with adequate methods carry out a qualified degree project within given time frames, - orally and in writing give an account of and discuss both own and others' research results and the knowledge and arguments that underlie these, - consider current research ethics standards.

Course structure
Independent work with thesis, tutorials with supervisor and opposition.
Teaching format
The teaching consists of tutorials and seminars. Compulsory elements: (Course requirements): seminars are compulsory elements of the course. Assessment
The course is examined through the examination of one's own degree project as well as opposition to the degree project of others. For more detailed information, refer to the course description.
