American and English Business Law

American and English Business Law in particular deals with the common law method, the functioning of common law-based justice systems and fundamental legal principles within the Anglo-American legal systems.

American and English business law is given as an elective course within the framework of the exchange programmes at the Department of Law, Stockholm University. Swedish law students admitted by the department are also given access to the course.

  • Course structure

    The learning objectives, activities, and examination criteria for the course are outlined in the syllabus. Therefore, the syllabus serves as the foundational document dictating the course's content and structure.

    Teaching format

    Instruction is given in the form of seminars and a moot court. The language of instruction is English.

    Assessment

    Examination is conducted through active attendance at mandatory seminars (pass/fail), a case brief, a client memo, a court brief, oral participation in a moot court as well as a written final examination.

  • Schedule

    The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.
