Analysis and processing of speech and voice
This course is for students who want to learn how to make acoustic analyzes of speech and voice recordings. The course deals with methods for measuring the properties of the voice, as well as melody, dynamics and timbre in speech and song.
Analysis and processing of speech and voice is a master's level course in phonetics. The course introduces basic concepts and methods for processing voice and speech data. The methods are demonstrated using the freely available software Praat and we discuss them in relation to relevant phonetic phenomena.
