New Dramaturgies II
The course studies new dramaturgies in their social and political context. The course is a continuation and expansion of the theories and themes that have been taken up in New dramaturgies I. It is part of the International Master's Programme in Performance Studies.
Particular focus is placed on issues of equality, diversity and inclusion by incorporating dramaturgies which are, for example, anchored in Indigenous, ecological or young audiences' perspectives. The course studies intercultural and transnational dramaturgies in the performing arts for both young and adult people where several languages, cultures and generations meet and collaborate. Furthermore, oral dramaturgies and narrative techniques (story-telling) which are anchored in decolonization projects or migration experiences are studied. Finally, the course also addresses how ecodramaturgy takes into account issues of sustainability.
