Teaching English to Pupils Aged 9-13
The course is an introduction to the teaching and learning of English in grades 4-6. The course is taught in English and is designed for incoming exchange students.
The course focuses on receptive and productive classroom activities arranged by the teacher and based on language-education research literature and curricular documents. An emphasis is also placed on comprehension and use of domain-specific concepts.
The course consists of continuous oral and written tasks with a focus on classroom practices. The student describes and motivates classroom activities aimed at developing pupils' communicative ability, including pronunciation and vocabulary.

Course structure
Once the course has started, the online learning platform Athena is used for information, assignments and submissions.
Teaching format
Instruction is given in English and in the form of lectures and seminars. Attendance is mandatory.
Assessment
The course is examinated through oral and written exams in English.
