The course introduces key concepts in gender geography through feminist geographies and methodologies, unequal power relations and gender processes (femininity, masculinity and sexuality). Local and international contexts are used to illustrate how gender geographies are constructed and maintained with various spatial and time-based outcomes. Students are invited to critically analyse how gender permeates everyday life through a series of hands-on exercises in and around everyday spaces and places.
