Programme content and structure

In the Bachelor's Programme in Human Geography – Society, Environment and Global Processes students study courses in the main field of study, human geography, during the first year and the third year. The second year are optional courses. 

Language of instruction is Swedish.

  • Population, Environment and Landscape Change, 7.5 HECs
  • Cities and Urban Society – Local and Global Challenges, 7.5 HECs
  • GIS and Spatial Analysis I, 7.5 HECs
Semester 2: Courses in human geography
  • Special courses (two elective courses; e.g. Challenges for Planning in the Global South, Environmental Challenges in a Social Science Perspective, Gender and Geography, Geography of Historical Landscape, Housing, Segregation and Moves, Place, Identity and Migration, and Urban Governance), 7.5+7.5 HECs
  • Social Scientific and Spatial Methods, 7.5 HECs
  • Essay in Human Geography, 7.5 HECs
