Om mig

My research interests lie in the fields of Social and Affective Neurosciences. In particular, I am interested in emotion regulation and how social support and empathy can facilitate dealing with negative emotions. I want to understand the underlying neural mechanisms of these processes with the help of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and magnetoencephalography (MEG), with the goal to shed more light on how interpersonal interactions can influence emotional well-being.

Background

I have a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science from the University of Osnabrück in Germany and a Master's degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from Radboud University in the Netherlands. After my studies, I worked as a research assistant in the Memory and Emotion laboratory at the Donders Institute in Nijmegen.
