Leading interpreter-mediated professional encounters is a highly specialized skill. However, training in tis skill is almost nonexistent in professional education. This project explores how students develop this skill through interprofessional role-plays. The theoretical and methodological framework is based on mediated discourse analysis.

Reading development in newly arrived high school students addresses a well-defined educational need: the automatization of decoding in second language learner reading. Decoding is critical for comprehension and therefore for learning.
